Established in 1953, under the name of ‘Happy Store’ at Georgetown, Penang, the Pearl of the Orient. We are one of the few remaining pioneers of the book trade in the English language in Malaya, presently Malaysia.

During the period, most of the books and magazines were imported from UK and USA. Our suppliers were WM Collins (Glasgow), Gordon H. Gotch, McDonald Evans, WH Smith, Heinemann, MacMillan, ELBS (English Language Books Society), Longman.

During the early 70’s, we changed our name to ‘United Happy Stores’ to reflect more the changing business environment to include more categories of books.

Now we have re-branded our company to Uniria Books Sdn. Bhd to face the challengers of the new millennium. We have focused our sales in higher educational books, giving priority to low price books for universities and colleges.

In view of this, we have entered into e-business to serve a wider audience including libraries of higher learning with the concept of e-books resources.
